In 2005 Alena came to City Dental Clinic (CDC) having qualified as a physiotherapist at Charles University in Prague. Alena realised there were excellent opportunities to progress in dentistry in the UK especially as at the time she saw there were rooms for improvement in patient care and customer service as she had been used to back home.
Alena quickly gained her dental nursing qualification with GDC (General Dental Council) registration to enable her to follow on in qualifications in dental practice management. In 2006 after undertaking basic reception and trainee practice manager tasks at CDC this led to a full time practice managerial position with TCO (treatment co-ordinator) role.
In 2007 Alena masterminded and successfully took the practice through the “IIP” (Investors in People) assessment. In the process Alena was also working as an “IIP” assessor recognising over 100 organisations over a 3 year period. In 2008 this lead to CDC easily being accepted as part of the prestigious BDA (British Dental Association) Good Practice Scheme with regular successful annual re-registrations achieved ever since.
